I’m Vin Weathermon, the Shutter Scamp, about to embark on a Pacific Coast Highway adventure in my vintage 1984 Scamp 16, the cool home on wheels that I hope will take me from San Diego California to Depoe Bay, Oregon. On the way I hope to talk with fellow travelers, get pointers on how experienced small home travelers do things, what products and tools help make the journey safer and more fun. I know just enough to be dangerous. I paid too much for a trailer that had no brakes, faulty tail lights, decaying water lines, dysfunctional airconditioner, crumbling water connections, no hot water or shower. It’s kind of a disaster, but may be a sweet outcome if it all works out; after all, I also know mistakes can “make the man”.
