Just trying to do bits at a time

Last Wednesday I had a serious 20 mile an hour slide and body slam. I knew it was bad when my left side of my face felt cold on a hot day, bleeding. Retrospectively, it was a spectactularly stupid thing to do and I should have known about that smooth concrete. I was definitely going too fast on the ebike, and peddling like mad hoping to prevent our little Wesley from making it from the greenbelt to the busy street and shopping center around the corner.

That little episode has cost me the most evil looking bruise I’ve ever seen. and a lump on my hip that is slowly receding. The bags of ice and frozen peas work well, so once sufficiently frozen I begin the task of repairing:

  1. Scamp Trailer: Air conditioning is a mystifying thing. The Ultra Kool was short cycling then stopped cooling. The new GE 6k BTU is now behaving the same way, only is capping out at 78 on a moderately mid 80’s day. When the unit kicks on the compressor again it blows nice. 20 minutes later it’s blowing air. My excellent nephew Edison will be helping me with my solution, hoping for something that doesn’t ruin the vintage image. Grateful because I am behind schedule and risk people thinking ill of me in the HOA.
  2. Me and Mine. Our family has some massive changes ahead. This is tough on families on a good day for most. For families with autistic kids, non-verbal and wonderful, needing consistency, vigilance and upper body strength at times..it will be severe. Separating our household goods as my daughter and grandson make their way, while I downsize to fit my trailer life.

I hope my journey helps us in the long road ahead with sponsors and good traveling friends.

This was about 3 hours after the incident. I look worse now than I did then.
