Old Scamp, New Adventure Coming October 2025

I’m taking my vintage 1984 Scamp 16 foot trailer to places where I can meet travelers, check out their camping stories and things to outfit tiny home living. I had hoped for a launch by the end of June, but things need fixing so the original planned trip up the Hwy 1 from Orange County to Oregon may need to be pushed out with winter coming. This means I may have to start at the southern end of the country and work my way around which could be fun.

I’m writing and photographing this experience, and hope to interview some quality campers! I hope the information I provide is useful. Launching October 2025. Check out more about me, Shutter Scamp.

Living Simpler Challenge.

Is contentment something I can find hauling my home with me?

I’m going to find out.

When life offers travel, hit the road.

I admit, I am novice to the small RV lifestyle, and I am actively seeking help from fellow travelers in the campsites I stay in. What works? What doesn’t? Can I do this forever?

Laid off after working 35 + years

As a Security & Compliance Director for the past 7 years, I was used to 6 am conference calls and a demanding schedule. Suddenly, I’m no longer expected on those early calls. What do I do now? This unexpected change has opened up new opportunities for me to explore different career paths and interests. It’s a chance to reinvent myself and embrace new challenges with fresh energy and enthusiasm.

Here is my LinkedIn online professional resume if you’re interested.

Avid photographer, all genres

I’ve been a passionate photographer throughout my career, capturing everything from scenic landscapes to portraits, from macros to abstract art. I love it all. I’ve had several studios, including one in Old Town Irvine. The advent of AI and cellphones has transformed the field, but my love for photography remains unchanged.

Learning what matters

My experiences have shown me that there’s always more to learn, no matter how much I know. While I may not be as smart as I aspire to be, I have the ability to learn from my mistakes and continuously improve.

Social Media is the frontier

While I have a good foundation for IT services and resilience, connecting with interested people is something I need to learn.

If you are a savvy TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo person and are interested in some trade work, please hit my Contact page.

Project Management

I’ve managed a ton of projects, including IT components of mergers and acquisitions, software implementations, and compliance programs. Talk about stressballs galore!

Always been a worker

With my extensive work history, I’ve gained a diverse set of skills that go beyond just cybersecurity and IT. I’ve been a Purchase Agent, Test Equipment Coordinator, McDonald’s Manager, Chauffeur, Security Guard, Housepainter, Handyman, UPS Swamper, Bus Sign Installer, and even a gardener with a green thumb. Just thinking about all these roles makes my back ache a little.

The more I learn, the more I realize I know next to nothing. It’s a work in progress!
